Never been to Coney Island as I head to Montauk in the summer.

From what I have been told, its fun, there is a certain time of the day when the bars off the beach start to fill up and its quite a party scene.

Summer in August can be tough if the humidity is high. Plus side is that it is easy to get into the top restaurants as a lot of the Manhattan locals leave for the 3 months.

Yes it is immense, and pretty expensive although i did buy a pair of sneakers whilst there last time.
I remember when it was a small shop downtown, you had to be buzzed in, unheard of for a sneaker shop.
